Nauticus, the National Maritime Center, is an exciting science and technology center where you can explore the power of the sea. It is located at One Waterside Drive, Norfolk, Virginia, in the downtown waterfront. NOAA's Ocean Service opened an office at Nauticus in 1998. Visitors to Nauticus can learn about NOAA and its resources through its exhibit, 95,000 Miles of Coastal Knowledge, as well as in its Navigation Alley, where they can learn about essential features of modern navigation. Interactive touch screen computer displays and graphic exhibits are also presented to teach visitors more about NOAA's programs and services.
