Appointed as Executive Director of the Port of Wilmington, Delaware, by Thomas R. Carper, Governor of the State of Delaware;
Established the Port as the nation's largest refrigerated and frozen import facility;
Directed the planning, design, and construction of over $100 million of new Port facilities;
Led an organizational development program raising the standards of performance, professionalism and productivity in a growing workforce of up to 300 employees plus seasonal workers;
Grew revenues by over 50% to $26 million while actively and creatively managing cost structures resulting in best earning amongst ports in the North Atlantic region;
Actively developed new training programs, safety improvements, labor contracts and security advances resulting in below-industry standard accident rates and above-average productivity;
Managed board and government relations which yielded substantial improvements in government and pubic relations and support for Port developments;
Focused development of port on automobiles and fruit refrigerated cargoes;
