This year\u2019s event focused on NOAA\u2019s extensive data and models that are freely available and of particular interest to the recreational boater community.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" src=\"https:\/\/nauticalcharts.noaa.gov\/updates\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/img_1138.jpg\" alt=\"Rear Adm. Shepard Smith provides introductory remarks at NOAA Industry Day 2017.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The morning session consisted of presentations by program leaders highlighting new data enhancements and models that can provide added-value to existing recreational navigation systems. NOAA experts also solicited feedback from industry members on how to improve the accessibility and distribution of NOAA data and encouraged future correspondence on development opportunities.
