The Office of Coast Survey Diversity and Inclusion Committee is hosting a Fall Costume and Carving Contest! Get out your Halloween costumes and pumpkin carving utensils, and get your cameras ready. Snap an image of you, your family, your pets dressed up, or your finished pumpkin masterpiece. Send in submissions by November 1, to maryrose.sheldon@noaa.gov with the subject line, OCS_Contest_LastName. There will be divisional and category winners in the running for Amazon gift cards. All participants will be offered 59 minutes and we will share submissions at the November All Hands.
The Subcommittee on Ocean Science and Technology (SOST) will convene an Environmental Justice webinar on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. (EDT). This two-hour event will feature an introduction to basic environmental justice principles followed by three high-level, 15-minute presentations, a short Q&A session, and a broad panel discussion on the role of environmental justice in Federal and interagency work. We are excited to share that Dr. Jalonne White-Newsome will facilitate this event.
