Dear Coast Survey,
I would like to thank the teams from all the divisions and front office for their support during my brief turn at the wheel of Coast Survey. There were a number of data calls and initiatives that demanded broad input from each division, and I was impressed by the support and professional attention they received. These last ten weeks have certainly upheld my belief that Coast Survey provides a tremendous service to our nation. Thank you for your continued efforts, and I look forward to working with you from my post in Hydrographic Surveys Division.
Our very own Capt. Elizabeth Kretovic, deputy hydrographer, was featured in the U.S. Coast Guard’s Journal of Safety and Security at Sea special issue on “Pioneers and Prodigies”. You can find her “Rested and Ready” on page 76.

The holiday season provides an excellent opportunity to build understanding and awareness of the traditions and beliefs of others. Our divergent voices make for a better, more productive work environment. Come for an hour or come for ten minutes; however long you can stay, I would welcome the opportunity to see you and hear from you, and to engage in a dialog. To facilitate the discussion, please come ready to share your holiday traditions and cultural celebrations.
